| The Angora Fire started June 24,
2007 West of South Lake Tahoe and burned 3,100 acres
destroying 254 residences and 75 commercial & other
structures, 35 additional residences were damaged.
The Forest Service has contracted with Aero Tech,
Inc and Selby’s Soil Erosion Control Co., Inc.
to hydromulch 636 acres in four different areas damaged
by the Angora Fire. When the hydromulch hardens it
will bind to the hillsides trapping moisture and creating
an environment where new vegetation can take root
and stabilize the soil.
This is the first time Aerial Hydromulching has been
utilized in this area of the country.
This site will be updated daily showing the progress
of the operation. Check this site frequently for updated
maps, photographs and additional information on this
exciting project.
The treatment areas
are located approximately
10 air miles northwest
